Liposuction is a safe procedure when performed by a qualified plastic surgeon in an appropriate clinical setting. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are some risks and complications such as:
● Pain and discomfort after surgery.
● Inflammation and swelling.
● Bruising and contusion.
● Infection.
● Bleeding.
● Scarring.
Patients at their ideal weight:
It is indicated in patients who are not obese and are stable in their weight. With a body mass index of 30 or less. The lower the body mass index, the more attractive the result may be since the procedure is simpler.
It is important that the patient is healthy or under control. In case they suffer from any disease such as hypertension or diabetes, we perform preoperative examinations to ensure that our patients’ health is in perfect condition.
● Have a stable weight and not be on an active weight loss plan.
● Have good skin elasticity.
● Not have liver or heart disease.
● Not have blood clotting problems.
● Not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
● No smoking.
● Have realistic expectations about the results of the procedure.
The anesthesia used in liposuction may vary depending on the size and location of the area to be treated, as well as the preferences of the patient and the surgeon.
There are several different technologies used in liposuction, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Some of the most common technologies used in liposuction include:
● Tumescent liposuction.
● Laser liposuction.
● Radiofrequency liposuction.
● Ultrasound liposuction.
● Liposuction with air cannula.
It is important to discuss this in order to choose the best technique for your particular case.
